Our Philosophy:

Our goal is that our students learn as much Spanish as they want during their stay in Barcelona, and make the most of their time with us. At the same time, we are very conscious that we need to provide a range of fun and attractive activities for the students so that they can enjoy themselves while learning. Every teacher, every activity leader and every host family is fully committed to the students in order to enhance their learning process and amusement while guaranteeing their safety.

Safety:

Safety starts when we carefully choose our team members and host families. We make sure that every member of our team has a good track record and that our host families are reliable and caring. Safety continues when the students take the plane to come to Barcelona. Every student has an insurance covering any lost luggage. The students' insurance also covers every medical issue related to either illness or accident and it includes liability insurance as well. Safety goes on when they arrive at Barcelona's airport and their host family is waiting for them. The facilities we use are specifically designed for holding activities and lessons (lessons take place at a government high school) and our activity leaders have a long experience in looking after teenagers; our motto during the activities is "safety first". Finally, after some amazing weeks with us, and after a great improving in their Spanish language skills, the students are taken to the airport by their host family to catch their plane back home.

Small groups:

We believe that in order to make the most of their time in a language course, the students need to be placed in small groups. Since every student has different needs, it is very important that they receive a very customized attention; for being able to offer this service, a small student/teacher ratio is required. In Barcelona Intensive Spanish Language School we are very conscious of these facts, this is why we offer reduced groups in both lessons and activities. Both, teachers and activity leaders have a maximum of 4 or 8 students under their responsability (depending on the kind of course) so that they can make sure that every student practises and learns as much Spanish as he or she wants.
