BARCELONA INTENSIVE SPANISH LANGUAGE SCHOOL

“Helping you dream in Spanish”

Barcelona Intensive Spanish Language School | C/Salvador Espriu 91 1er 1a 08005, Barcelona, Spain | bisls@bisls.com

The course consists of formal lessons, activities and living with a host Spanish family. The students either have lessons in the morning and activities in the afternoon or vice versa, and the schedule swaps weekly in order to be able to visit some of the monuments of the city.

Every morning from 9:30 to 13:45 or afternoon from 16:00 to 20:15 the students have 4 formal lessons of 60 minutes each (20 hours per week). These formal lessons are focused on writing and reading, with special attention to grammar and vocabulary.

We offer two types of groups: standard groups and reduced groups. In the standard groups there are from 5 to 8 students in the same class. In order to meet the needs of some students, we have designed the reduced groups where there are only from 2 to 4 students per class. In the reduced groups the lessons take place either at a standard classroom or at a family home, so that the students can experience a more personal relationship with Spanish people. The reduced groups are so small that the teacher is able to meet the individual needs of every student so that every hour of class is worth much more.

Course description:

In order to make the lessons more friendly and appealing for the students, a variety of pedagogical methods are proposed in combination with other more traditional methods. The topics that are discussed in the lessons range from cultural events such as “los Sanfermines” to biographies on Spanish speaking celebrities like Shakira or information about monuments that the students will see during the activities.

Our teachers, all of them at least University graduates, have a long experience in teaching Spanish and they hold specific qualifications for teaching the language to non-spanish speakers.
